Is your AMC properly licensed?

Originators and servicers find themselves asking this question: Is my Appraisal Management Company properly licensed? The recently implemented Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act mandates all AMC's to adhere to appraiser independence requirements. In addition to appraiser independence, the Dodd-Frank Act also requires AMC’s to comply with newly implemented AMC state licensing mandates. Many states have already implemented AMC licensing requirements with more on the way. This is a requirement that some AMC’s are unaware of and/or are struggling with in today’s environment.
